Helping People Afford Life

North Main Credit Union Recognized for Helping People Afford Life

North Main Credit Union was recently recognized by the Georgia Credit Union Affiliates (GCUA) for “Helping People Afford Life.” For the second consecutive year, GCUA hosted a story submission contest for credit unions across the state. Credit unions were asked to submit stories and testimonies from members about how their credit union has helped them afford life. Out of all the submissions, our story was selected as the winner and published in the October edition of Georgia Trend Magazine.

“These are our people, and if they aren’t your people, you’re missing out!” This powerful quote from a NMCU member on Facebook helped us win the story submission contest.

“We are thrilled to have been chosen as the GCUA Helping People Afford Life story contest winner. However, we are even more proud to be able to provide our members with products and services that truly do help them afford life,” says NMCU CEO Melany Ward. “That’s what credit unions are all about.”

Credit unions serve a wide range of members who are at different stages in their lives. With a focus on serving the financial needs of their members – rather than maximizing a profit – credit unions are in the business of Helping People Afford Life. They provide personal service designed to help members grow their savings, pay off debt and plan for the future. Because of credit unions’ not-for-profit, member-owned structure, members enjoy a level of respect customers at for-profit institutions aren’t likely to find. Credit unions exist to help members achieve their aspirations. With memberships topping 2 million statewide, consumers continue to affirm the value of Georgia credit unions.
